The Peter Schiemann Memorial Slow-Pitch Tournament is this weekend (August 30th to 31st) at Meridian Sports Park in Stony Plain, Alberta. The cost is $300 per team (mixed teams with 7/7 male/female split). Darcy Carter and Jodi Blake organize the tournament, but have moved to Calgary and are taking bookings there. There are still a few spots open so if you are interested in registering a team, send me an email (see our Contact page) and I will forward Darcy's phone number to you. Proceeds from the tournament this year will go to the DARE program, and have been donated to various charities in the past, including the Fallen Four Memorial Fund and Support the Cure.
